Ive tried a search but was unable to find an answer, being 6ft 3 every fd ive sat has been crampt to say the least. I was wondering if there are any tall owners that own an FD and what they have done to fit in? Wha about trackdays with helmet aswell?

i.e seating rails snap off steering wheel etc

Ive been thinking about an FD for a long time but this problem has always stopped me currently I drive a GTR 33 which also had a similar problem as far as Helmet fiting in aswell but I resolved this will lower bride rails.

Thanks...

There is a couple of things you can do. First of is you can get a smaller steering wheel. Gives your legs and knees just a little more room. Its all i\'ve done so far As i\'m the same height as you and find it a lot better now.
Secondly is to modify the seat rails so they slide back a little further. I think there\'s a thread either on here or FDUK which explains how to do it. Will have a look for you :)
Was going to look in to this over the winter as i\'d like a little more leg room

Agreed with above. Im not tall but my friend is and he could never get in with my stock steering wheel in place until i fitted a 330mm wheel and now he fits. Only problem is now that he wants to bloody drive it! Lol. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the information so far....

Modifying the rails to go back far enough, smaller steering wheel and maybe a snap off kit will bring the steering wheel closer going over the knees. That sounds pretty good however is height an issue for you when you have a helmet on?

Dont know about with a helmet on as never put one in in my car. But i think you\'l find head room isn\'t a problem really. :D

im only 5ft 10 and ive modified the seat runners just so my mate could enjoy sitting in the passenger seat more and so he could give it a test drive and it did make a big difference for him who is your height!

...however the steering wheel still caused a problem so you do need to get a smaller one like a 330 etc.

like someone else said the headroom shouldnt be a problem with those special dents on the roof :o
