oh, you do it with a special kit that looks like 4 of the scales you have in your bathroom that you sit the car on, one under each wheel. They connect together with a clever computer gizmo that gives you all the weights, diagonals, left-to-rights, front-to-backs, total, etc

So i know my car is 1170 kilos with no fuel in.

yes i wonder if they have a 14st weight!!! :rollin

you will never get 25% weight distribution with the engine up front but you can get close, makes a big differnece to braking and cornering as i say carn\'t wait to get mine set up and out on the track :Thumbs-up

you mean 50% front to rear weight distribution?

The Rex was designed to be as close to that as possible, hence why the engine is so far back. Proper sports car ;)

Mine was 51.1 rear, 48.9 front with three quarters of a tank in it

Apparently the magic height (for handling rather than looks) for an FD is 25 inches from floor to the top of the wheel arch.

Fantastic link :Thumbs-up

Just reading....will take all night!

Went out to the garage and measured.....26inch rear, just over that at the front. Looks like i was right to plan to drop it an inch and have it inbetween where it used to be (at least two inches lower than it is now, by my eye) and where it is now.

Interesting geo values:

Tire pressure 30 front 27 rear
Ride height if you have coil overs should be set at 25 inches at the top of each wheelwell.

Toe in front between a 1/16 and 1/8th inch
Toe in rear zero
Camber front and rear 1.2 degrees negative
Caster equal minimal
Zero rear thrust angle.

Unfortunately i haven\'t got what he means by the toe-in settings as my readouts are in degrees, not inches. Same with \'caster equal minimal\' - what value is that in degrees? His comment lower down the page about it is strange as well; is he suggesting 5 degrees?

I run lower pressures as well; i have found 26 all round to be best on a trackday though i run 24 while sprinting as its only a few laps at a time. Run 24 at a trackday and the tyres go all mushy as they heat up too much after a few laps. Toyo R888s, by the way; sticky rubber.

Dammit, i had other plans this evening :o

papercup - what have you done to reduce weight and get it down to 1170 kilos

me - very little.

The guy before (James Baum) - quite a lot. The rear hatch is carbon fibre, rear glass is perspex. Bonnet is glassfibre (i think) Battery is a lightweight bike one. All the interior behind the seats has gone (though most of the front interior is still there). Seats are lightweight recaros. Other stuff i can\'t remember.

I have probably added weight; the 6-pot APs are hardly light. The water injection must add up to a little as well.

The TE37s i got new recently are really light compared to my BBS LMs though; the BBS are CHUNKY.
