i should probably post this in the technical section but i find that you 2nd gen\'ers do it better :D

basically sometimes when i plant my foot on the loud pedal whilst going round a corner the engine hesitates/cuts out or something like that, it suddenly haults ( which must be bad for the engine) and then continues. This happens a lot more often when lower on fuel. any ideas on how i can stop this and what it even is?

i\'m pretty sure i read about this problem a while ago but i can\'t find the post about it.

cheers :D

Time to check the wiring to the fuel pump - I had a TII once that did it every ime I took a hard left under acceleration. :wave

Sounds like fuel surge - there was a thread on it a month or so ago...

iirc the answer was to either change the sock, or fit tank baffles, or similar...

There should be a small \'cup\' in the tank that holds fuel so that when you corner hard, the car won\'t be starved of petrol because it\'s all been thrown to the side of the tank :spank

If someones been and messed with that, or the fuel pump filter sock is no longer in the \'cup\' that might cause your problem...

...can\'t remember if it\'s spot welded to the tank or lose.
