Indicator Circuits

Because of how tall I am and my steering wheel I cannot see the green indicator lights flash on the dash. This may not seem a problem but when driving in traffic it is. So I thought that I could tap into the indicator circuits and put a small lamp on top of the dash that flashed. My problem is identifying the indicator wires from the steering column can anyone point me in the right direction; I have tried with testers etc with no bloody luck.
