Hey again,

You may have noticed my thread under \'technical\'... this seemed like a better spot to ask this question though...

I\'m 6 foot 4".

Hows my head looking for hitting the roof in a 3rd Gen, series 8 RX7??? And my leg room? =[ This could be the one thing that stops me... I never considered this till I saw a guy squished inside on :(

i have a 92 fd and am 6\'4 also, i have no problems with heasdroom i did have issues with legroom as my steering wheel has no adjustment.

however after i swapped my jdm seat runner for a uk runner my driving position is much improved with the seat back i can drive comfortably without my knees hitting the wheel, the door card or the centre console its snug but very comfortable.

i dont know what the differences are between the later models and my 92  but i would expect them to be better rather than worse. also note there is a thread on here that details how to alter the jdm runners so they slide back as far as the uk versions so it doesnt cost you any extra cash.

hope this helps

I have a \'99 Rx-7, one of my buddies is 6\' 3" he sat in my car and his head was ok with the roof (although I don\'t think he\'d be able to wear a helmet in there) but the steering wheel was right against his thighs. As has been said above the steering wheel is not adjustable.

I have heard that their is a longer runner kit (I think someone in the US makes one) you could also swap the steering wheel out for a smaller one to buy quite a lot of room.

I\'m 65" you\'ll be fine mate, I have also done a write up on FDUK of how to modify the seat runner to go slightly further back, a smaller wheel will help though.

Simple tihng to try first is to get a smaller diameter steering wheel. That way you can get more room for your legs. 6\'4" myself so know how good that is in gaining a little extra room.
Might be checking out your FDuk thread soon Alan ;)

Awesome, thats good to hear. Could you link me the URL to the FDUK write up you did? I checked out the website, but I couldnt find your article.

Any suggestions for a new stearing wheel?

You can tell I\'m fairly new to this =D I\'ve only modded out cars in games. Really looking forward to personalising this one... when it arrives, & I get started, I\'ll keep you all posted on how its going XD

i would reccomend doing the seat first as i was looking to do the seat runner and get a steering wheel but after i did the runners i found that i was comfortable like that and didnt need to get a wheel at all.

As someone with long(ish) legs, i can defo say: getting the seat runners done was essential! (although, so was taking out the rear roll cage that stopped the seats even hitting the end of the jap runners :D)

Likewise, i\'ve got a momo replacement steering wheel - came with the car (so no idea how much difference it made) but i\'d hate to have a bigger wheel.

Lastly, Quite a few people seem to be using spacer nuts behind the wheel, just to bring it slightly closer - i\'ll be trying that too, just to make the heel+toe routine slightly easier ;)

Height-wise, even with the seats set to bolt-upright, i\'ve got a good couple of inches spare above the head (i\'m only 6ft tho) - but you might need to duck as you get through the door :p
