Hey peeps just a few idears iv been toying with u after some advice :)

1. Do slam panels make much difference to temps? toying with the idear of a custom one in fiberglass as theres too many bends n curves to try a metal one, plus it`ll tidy the front up a little, just your opinions plz :cheers

And would normal 2 pack paint and clear withstand the engine temps if i painted a few bits? engine bay paints the same as the car and that never has any issues, tiz what im thinking below as im p`d off polishing the things every month lol, so if painted a quick wipe over n its spotless any.. just dont wanna have the paint flaking off with the heat, and powder coating a cost me money :P

I painted my intercooler pipes just with a Halfrauds Vintage Red rattle can and they\'re fine a year later, no flaking or bubbling or anything. Ooooh, get you with your photoshops! I\'d leave it polished were it me, the only reason I painted mine is cos I can\'t afford a polished elbow and efini y-pipe, but whatever flicks your switch. Better hope someone don\'t buy it off fleabay whilst your spraying the pipework up!

I\'m planning on going down the custom fiberglass slam pannel route, although my knowlede of fibre glass extents to fixing bumpers.

Cool, shame were at opposite ends of the country, what I need to work out is normally I use many thin layers of fibreglass, is there a way of useing thick glass and getting a load of resin onto it easily, also I\'m always going through brushes as they just glue them selves together.

I know a rotary engineer who is starting to make slam panels for the FD he uses two seperste sheets of aluminium, dont think they will be expensive as he is rebuilding my car for 1.6k. let me know if you are intersted and I will give you his contact details

you just buy thicker mat, i use 1.5 oz mat, and all you do it wet the area first that your fiberglassing then stick the mat down onto that then wet out... for the brushes use acetone, it breaks uo and burns off the resin :D
