Highly technical question time!

I have mirror issues!
My drivers side mirror is a noisy get - it vibrates at pretty much any revs, and there\'s a fair bit of play in the actual glass section. At first i thought it was the whole unit, but on closer inspection it\'s the glass. I guess there\'s slack in an a cable somewhere?
Anyone got any advice how to resolve this? Or is it just the mirror spiders taking their revenge for me being so hostile to them on my cars?
