Air pump on, but not connected...?

hi,

Noticed today that my air pump didn\'t have the power lead connected to it...

It is still fitted properly with the belts going round it, but the power lead was undone..

Since the air pump is on, should I have it running properly, or is it OK to have it like this?

I still have the standard cat on, so maybe I need the extra pressure it makes? Also got a FEED downpipe and an aftermarket pipe from cat back.

If you have a cat then your air pump should all be connected up  You can run the risk of the cat getting blocked without it on.
