Savanna was the home market (Japan) brand name for many of Mazda\'s rotaries. It was first used in 1971 for the RX3 and they stopped using it in 1992 with the last 2nd gen RX7\'s :)

So any rotary with the Savanna badge would be a Japanese home market car :)

Many Savanna\'s were also higher spec cars than those released for other countries as the Japanese market always expected lots of extras and comforts in their vehicles.

Think you\'ll find this interesting...

1981 MKII  323 (one of the 1st 500) (UK)
1985 MKIII RX7 (UK)
1989 MKIV RX7 Sports Coupe EGI (UK)
1989 MKV  RX7 Savanna TII Cabriolet (JDM)
1995 MX-6 2.5 V6 (UK)

I\'ve been amazed at a Mazda and it stuck! ;)
