My egi currently has two after marked gauges, one to tell me when the auxiliary ports are open and the other for throttle response. They havn\'t been mounted too tidily so my first job is to get a pillar mount for them. Though looking at pillar mounts, it seems to be a lot easier to get hold of 3 gauge mounts. So is there any point or need to get another gauge? I was looking at temperature and oil pressure gauges because I hear the OEM ones arn\'t the best. Also is there anyway i can customize them so their backlit? Can\'t see them in the dark!!

cheers

Call me stupid, but was would either of those guages look like?  I can understand having a vacuum guage hooked up, but frankly I\'m baffled?

um kinda hard to explain because the cars at home and i cant remember to well either.

maybe one is a vacuum gauge? but apparently it shows when the 5th and 6th ports open up.

and the other one just goes up when u press the pedal, havn\'t had a chance to look at them yet as they came with the car.

ill see if i can get hold of some pictures of them.

SOunds like one is definately a vacuum guage - I\'m not sure about the other, ut I\'d guess it\'s another vacuum gauge that\'s linked into the secondary ports?

I saw a car the other day with a vacuum and boost gauge, is there much point in a vacuum.  Personnalllllly if i were to have any gauges it would be:

Boost
Water Temp
Air/Fuel ratio

Obviously with an EGI you have no need for but I suppose a vaccum gauge if thats what you have already.  I find the oil pressure one OK standard and I think if i got too many gauges then i would be just to paranoid if the slightest thing never moved.  It also depends on how cluttered you want your cabin to be!!   I actually put ****pit but it auto edited the c oc k out.  Surely ****pit is allowed ??

i really do not know im afriad, havn\'t even driven the car yet. Both gauges have the same type of tubing going to them so i guess they\'re both vacuum gauges.

anyway, is there a need for any other gauges? don\'t want to clutter up the car but if its a good help then i might as well get another gauge

As in any rotary the most important is water temp out of any of them.  On an EGI thats all i would have but its up to you.  As i said above cant see the point in a vacuum gauge.

would a vacuum gauge tell me when the 5th and 6th ports open? That sems pretty usefull to me, not so show about the other gauge though
