Hi folks

Has anyone had any experoince of buying an RX7 through th guys at //www.linney.org (aka GT-culture.com)

I\'ve been looking at their site for while and they have some very nice looking cars, just wondered what they were like to deal with...

cheers

Dont know Ben personally, but seen a few cars of his at RE:Worx. All looked pretty nice.

From what I\'ve heard he\'s pretty good on the after sales-side too.

Got my car through Ben.  He\'s a decent guy.  Not a FD specialist as such though.  The cars certainly look great and choices are generally top rate cosmetically but sometimes the mechanics aren\'t quite so great - I had boost problems quite quickly after getting it but it was easily sorted by re:worx.

He definately is an enthusias for Jap metal

Knowing what I know now I wouldn\'t have paid 10k for it - maybe 8-8.5k but then again it did last 7k miles before the rebuild was needed..!  Apart from the rebuild being sooner than I\'d hoped the car was generally good for a \'92, just a tad pricey.  Saying that, it does look the dogs.

All in all I would buy from him again if he had the right car at the right price but I\'d also insist on an independant check-up from one of the specialist mechanics - but I\'d do that with any FD I bought coz they\'re temperamental beasties!

In Bens defence, all the main suppliers have engine failures on cars they sell :)

Geff has done rebuilds on many imported cars, plenty from the main importers* who every one assumes sell excellent and perhaps \'unburstable\' cars. Fact is I reckon there\'s little to choose between them. Miguel I guess at least gets to personally frequent some auctions and as an FD owner knows whats what but he doesnt do all Neweras buying.

The only way to get what you want for the price you want to pay is to buy a car in the UK that you can go and see and negotiate on. There are enough FD\'s in the UK to do this now. Although you have to see a lot of crud too in the process!

* the only exception probably being Bri at RI\'s of course :)
