FEED Rocket

Since i can\'t post this in the traders feedback section i\'ll stick it here til its moved, sorry for the messing about admin dudes.

I bought an RX-7 from Newera imports in August of this year. The rex doesn\'t come out much really due to the injectors maxing out all the time (which is quite worrying). Newera said that they are basically not responsible so i am seeking legal action at the moment, as i believe that this problem should have been addressed before selling the car to me. It was promised on the website that the car would be mapped for UK fuel on arrival, but this was ruled out as it apparently didn\'t need it.
Unfortunately this is not the only issue as the car was advertised as having Quantum T5-RS coilovers RRP £2500(below the pic from newera website),

(below the pic from quantum\'s website with T5-RS on the right)

On my car when it arrived here were HKS Hiper-D\'s RRP £1800 (pic below)

(pic below of them on my car)

Clearly you can see that the springs are a totally different colour for a start. Another issue is the wing. The car originally had a fully adjustable FEED GT wing, but this was apparently stolen on the way to the uk. Miguel told me that the wing was no longer made, i later contacted envyperformance, who told me this wasn\'t true, although the wing retailed for around £900. The wing was replaced 2 months after with a Zacetec carbon wing RRP £250. Am i really being unreasonable to ask for the difference in money to spend on parts at Neweraparts? This was apparently non negotiable.

Wrongfull advertising is Illegal but dam mate - they are both great suspension kits!!

Mapping - Well personally i\'d have got the mapping done myself for piece of mind as this is very important in these cars.

The spoiler - If Newera imported the car for you then the car should be insured with them - There is no reason why they should do like-for-like or better IMO

Good luck with this ine mate, but i do think you\'ve left this a bit late as August was a few months back!

Post some pictures of the motor!!

Here is the reply from Miguel of NewEra.

Andy,

I\'m sorry to see that despite my phone calls and e-mails, you\'re still persevering and have decided to post on this forum. We\'ve nothing to hide, so I\'m replying publically now:

Firstly, I\'ll re-iterate again that we do not change or swap parts off customer\'s cars. We\'re not thieves:

I\'ve apologised and explained that sometimes by looking under a car (Without it being on a lift) I cannot always easily identify a suspension component - but that the shocks that came fitted to your car were the very same ones the car was bought with.

Your photos now clearly show that I did indeed make a mistake on the description and HKS coilovers were fitted rather than Quantum shocks. If you look at the purple anodised ring at the bottom of the HKS shocks and compare it to Quantum\'s, the one on Newera\'s picture is an HKS one. Hopefully I\'ve finally suceeded in convincing you now...

Newera are FEED\'s appointed Intl. Distributors.
If you look on http://www.fujita-eng.com/fd3s/index_2.html, you\'ll see Fujita Engineering\'s current range of GT wings. There isn\'t one the same as the aluminium one that had been fitted to your car. Perhaps FEED lied to us when we asked them, but it does seem a little strange they don\'t show the Aluminium wing on their site if indeed it\'s available.

Unfortunately for the first time in a long while, we experienced some thefts of parts from your car, despite taking all precautions we could. We\'ve replaced everything agreed, without quibbles. We could have waited on an insurance claim for possibly months and drawn this on for a long time - but in your interests we chose not to, but paid losses out of our own funds - to minimise delay.

As it couldn\'t be sent via airmail, a brand new Carbon GT wing of high quality was shipped to UK, then one of our staff drove for over 6 hours total, to personally deliver this to you,. This cost well over what a courier would have charged us - but we wanted to minimise any chance of delay, or damage as this was an important item.

Injectors: As I\'ve explained on e-mail, we\'ve imported many different RX-7\'s with standard turbos and similar exhausts to that on your car. These have not required an upgrade of injectors in the past, so it was logical to assume your\'s wouldn\'t either.

At no time did we state that mapping would be carried out on the car before delivery. I\'m sorry if you have also misunderstood that.

Sincerely

Miguel.
