Hi All

My car has developed a little problemo!

Its been going well for months now, but when the second turbo is supposed to kick in it has a little coughing fit!!

It really struggles, car jerks around a bit and then there is no power when over 4500rpm. First turbo is fine, plenty of pull, but something is up thereafter.

Anyone have any ideas or friendly advice?

Hopefully where ever you are its sunny and your rippin the arse of your rex!

A.

by the way - my car is totally stock.

Spooky just came back after taking my FD for a run and my problem is the opposite no boost till 4500rpm then neck is snapped. No boost lower down then it all arrives at once.

I know what you feel like, mines more sluggish and its being caused by something in the rats nest. Think we have tracked it down to the solenoids.

Sounds like you have an issue there, possibly something has come off or leaking or got stuck.

Useful link for you guys:

But the best thing to do is search here and RX7club forums.

Hmmm, I\'m not too sure at all, but there\'s a really good trouble shooting guide here:

I think I may be loosing boost on the 2nd turbo hence why I\'ve found the link, but I can\'t check while I\'ve got no suspension ;)

if its any help i found most of my hoses on the left hand side (above the turbo\'s) to be suffering, ie they were all shot from the heat. these ones are easyer for you to get at before you start takeing the UIM off to replace hoses in the nest and solenoids. :wiggle
I woof in your general direction.

Well went out in mine today and it\'s now all working fine again. I think i need to use it more as it sit around doing nothing for weeks at a time.

Update - left my car into my ever faithful \'The Car Planet\' in warrington. I\'ve been away and only just got round to picking the thing up again. Return valve on second turbo has been repaced and lots of vac pipes been renewed.

Car is running like never before.

For those of you that have followed my Mazda ownership you will know that The Car Planet have always gone out of their way for me, even paying for a full rebuild (warranty paid for majority, car planet paid the difference) when my engine went pop after a few weeks of ownership.

As its a nice night I am going to take her out now and rip the arse off \'er!!

Happy motoring.

I bought my Integra type R from there and also found them very reasonable and they went out their way for me so i could take the car the same day as its a 350 mile round trip. Also had the clutch and flywheel replaced without question after it went after 4 months of ownership.
