Help with light\'s

Have fitted ReAmemiya sleek light\'s but the cover needs trimming slightly to align up properly and allow the bonnet to close as it should.  I\'m pretty sure they are polycarb - is this correct?

Is there any tried and tested method\'s of doing this without destroying the covers?
