I\'ve just replace the the oil in the FD, found a post that said it needed 5l so used 5l of 10-40 mineral oil as suggested in various threads. Now I\'ve got blue smoke comming from the exhaust. If I rev the car (stationary) to positive boost I\'m getting oil from the dump valve as well as the exhaust so oil is getting into the system somewhere.

Is this the sign of a dead engine or is it a simply drain some oil out? Can\'t at the moment due to hot oil.

I think you have put too much oil in her.  You only need about 3 and half ltrs not 5 thats only if you are droping in brand new engine with no oil in her at all even then its about 4 ltr max and then top up if needed.  Take it all out and refil and keep an eye on dip stick...

drained it now and took it out fine off boost then hit boost and there was a smoke screen befind me :) oops. Oil had pooled in the intercooler and was forced into the engine under boost. So I\'ve filled it with parafine to clean out the oil going to leave it over night out side over night flush it out then dry it, along with the intake pipes.  Thank god it\'s a bank holiday

mmmm don\'t think parafin will do much mate as it is an oil too!!!
Best bet is to put some petrol in there as that will flush everything out including the burnt on stuff from the miles of driving!!!
