In the middle of getting the engine ready to remove.

Noticed that the clutch pedal is stuck to the floor now. Is this because the hydraulic line is disconnected now?

400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

I noticed a little fluid drip out of the pipe.

I put some masking tape over it just now. Do I have to somehow top this fluid up again? If so, where???

Use dot 3 brakefluid. IT says on the resevoir cap which fluid to use. I think dot 3 has been replaced with dot 4, ask at your local motor factors. Make sure the clutch slave cylinder piston is fully assembeled by either removing the actual slave cylinder, or removing the clutch friction plate. Your gonna have to release that bearing, it will be piece of p i s s with the engine out, and if you say you can\'t do it , im gonna come round and shoot you:flamed :Tongue1 You dont want the piston to come out like it did with me just last week! Yeah, just reconnect the clutch line, get a glass jar, some piping about 2 foot long, buy some brake fluid, top up, undo nipple on slave cylinder, put a bit of clean brake fluid in the jar, put pipe onto nipple and other end into fluid in the jar, get a mate to pump the clutch pedal and you will see dirty fluid enter the jar with air bubbles coming out the pipe, when the bubbles stop, ask you mate to press the pedal one more time and hold it there, you tighten the nipple and away you go. If the pedal does not rise back up on it\'s own when it is all bled, or fluid is coming out the gearbox, you have the same problem as me, not nice when your just a few minuits from getting her started!

just thought, you didnt need to disconnect the clutch fluid system, the slave cylinder just stays attached to the gearbox which stays in the car.

The hydraulic line tho is connected up to the engine as far as I could see though, so the line would still need to be disconnected. No?

Although the slave cylinder doesn\'t need to move.

nikp

No, the hydraulic line is not connected to the engine.

QuoteI was told in another thread i didn\'t need to? I could just undo the flywheel bolts, to get it off. Then just put it back together when done. Without the need of releasing the bearing??
