I\'m getting bored at the moment and was thinking of getting Carbonfibre bonnet and rear hatch for my deep red FD.
Anyone got similar or pics of such?

How come that\'s the first photo I\'ve seen since you had it resprayed!

Looks like a very rich colour :)

I\'ve never seen a carbon rear hatch and am not sure how they work - is the glass replaced with plastic?  How does it support the weight of the spoiler etc?

I suggest only bothering with a carbon bonnet if you were getting ones with vents in.  FEED\'s is quite subtle (http://www.fujita-eng.com/fd3s/img/pl_014.jpg).

You car looks so clean in (near-ish) standard form though, it could almost spoil it.

Ive got both....will take some pics tomorrow and add them in

Or goto Gary\'s site...he sells them.  See Below \\/ \\/ \\/

Thanks Atomic that would be really useful.

Chris....don\'t ask!!
Whilst my car was in the spray shop, they were broken into, resulting in damage to my ecu/stereo plus other and i think it disrupted their spraying, as as time\'s gone on, it obvious that the bonnet and hatch are a different shade-lighter--don\'t know whether they missed a layer in the procedure.
It was an awful time for me and them too..he reduced the cost due to delay/hassle and paid for ECU replacement etc....nice people.
The colour is a mix with tiny flecks, so hasn\'t got an exact code....couldn\'t face going back due to the bad memories.
Hence my thoughts at present!!!:wave

Crikey, no wonder!

It\'s always going to be hard to match paint on different materials as well.  TVR\'s are a nightmare for this, especially when they get warm which also effects the finish.

If I was having a respray again, I\'d consider going for a factory paint as it makes \'facelifts\' much easier with less blending into other panels involved.  I\'m getting my front bumper re-done at the moment which involves redoing the bonnet and front wings.

There are some rear hatches available from Arios at the moment that dont have a rear window!

They are about 8kg for the whole thing!

Original is 60kg I believe

Or how about this window!

Probably doesnt suit a road car though. hehe

Here you go...have a look on here

The original weight is much less than 60kgs.....its about 30kgs

However the weight of the boot is only 5.5kgs, and the rear screen is another 2.5kgs Still a considerable weight saving, but one major thing is that all of the original weight is high up, so you are considerably dropping the C of G.

Check out Garys site, he will happily sell you one! And a perspex screen to go with it.

What a great looking car Atomic.:god
Did you purchase the carbon bits from Gary?
Cheers,
Pete

AtomicRex

Thanks for the complement :D :cheers

The parts are all supplied by Gary, Ive done some of the leg work on these items, but then handed any leads over to Gary.

The screens make a great difference, you can get side windows too!!!

The doors are a good addition, but wouldn\'t recommend them without first installing a roll cage, as you lose all side impact protection.  Save 40kgs over a pair of standard doors though ;)

I\'m aiming towards the carbon chest n\' arse.
Side profile, despite no body kit, looks as bit "thick" at the rear....big wheels would disperse this, but i\'m edging to the smooth arse!!:Laugh
