A couple of questions after my engine reinstall

Hope someone can help

1. The EGT sensor that connects to the cat, can I just join the wires up or not, someone mentioned I needed a 1200 ohm resistor in there? If so can I just use a normal electronics one or does it need to be rated for more current/power?

2. Until it\'s started and is running ok the standard ECU is staying in, will the car start in limp mode (i.e. caused with a broken EGT sensor?).

3. Will the car start without the connectors attached to the gearbox?
