My RX7\'s driver\'s door keyhole lock is knackered and wont open by key. Any idea what sort of cost is involved in fixing something like that?

I was wondering if just getting a keyfob for remote central locking would cost a similar amount?

Any ideas?

Brett

I would advise relying on remote opening just incase the battery goes dead. As a short term measure I would suggest you switch the barrel from the passegner door to the drivers.

Also (thanks Moonwrap) Mazda can produce you a lock barrel to match your existing Keys.  This is done by using the number etched onto your key, there may be a short wait for the barrel to be made though, its expensive either.  Moonwrap says they did it even for her Cabriolet which is JDM, so it should be pretty simple :)

Changing/fitting the barrel is not hard either, just remove the door card and everything will become clear :D

Makes a change that the locks won\'t open, T2\'s have this trick of not needing keys to open the door locks, i could open mine with a screw driver or even the wrong key :(

just been to the mazda dealership. lock barrel and key for £77. Not too bad really I don\'t think
I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!
