So there\'s me trying to get a manifold for a second gen, and I get asked "is it an S4 or S5 13b turbo"...

I dunno!  What\'s the difference in the manifolds?  And how would I be able to tell???

what turbo are you fitting?, a stock uk turbo 2 one?, if so its a series 5 turbo, if its an import (turbo1) then its a series 4.  The series 4 turbo wasnt sold in this country just the egi, the series 4 turbo was made between 86 - 88.

If its an aftermarket turbo with a T3 or T4 flange then it doesnt matter which manifold you get, the engine fitment is the same for all FC & FD

the series 4 also had low compression rotors
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

Series 5 turbine housing is larger and has two waste gate holes instead of one.

Cheers guys!  Initially I\'m looking to bolt on the stock turbo, but I do have access to a knackered GT35 that needs rebuilding...

Gonna import the manifold from Oz, as they seem to have these things on the shelf, and just stick it in the post!

btw - lets say hypothetically I\'m looking for a wastegate hole on a turbo, what would I be looking for if I were checking for 2 instead of one.  Obviously I know the answer, but for those reading this thread that might not.... *innocent whistle*

On the back of the turbo, exhaust side, you can tell once you take the back plate off.

The link below is for FC3SPRO site - shows how to port the wastegate :

should give you an idea of what to look for.
