How to check for a spark??

Ok... If you\'ve seen my other thread, I\'ve been having a bit of hassle!.. lol.

Basically, how do I check for spark at the plugs? Pull a plug out and lead. Connect them up and hold next to the engine and watch the spark?

All plugs are currently removed, so I just plug one into a lead and try, then another and another and another.

When cranking, should the EGI fuse still be out (de-flooding car at the mo, or trying too), and should the foot be to the floor?? This is for testing for spark. I know what to do to de-flood.

I obviously just don\'t want more fuel getting in there etc, when I\'m just checking for the spark.

I hope all of that made sense.

I believe EGI plug stops spark all together..... I would think you need it in, but then it means you are getting fuel...

Hold on a second?! Just thinking.. when you tried to deflood earlier... did you say EGI Fuse?! I swear you\'re ment to remove the EGI RELAYY!!!.. not the fuse (correct me if I\'m wrong)... Maybe thats your problem? Remove both

I removed the thing marked EGI which is attached to the positive terminal on the battery.

That\'s why I was asking tho. Do I need it in to check for spark? If so, like you said, I don\'t want more fuel getting in there!

checking for spark you hold the plug next to the chassis n see the wee spark jump dont you? thats what i did on ma bike anywho lol.. dont stick your finger in there tho.. well lol was gunna say your hair would stand on end.. but then.. you dont have any hair lololol

I need to know if I keep the EGI fuse out or not. Will it work if I keep it out and pedal down? (just to make sure no fuel gets in)

see if it sparks with it out, if not foot to the floor with the fuse in..
