hi guys,

i have a £1000 Clifford Concept G5 Intelliguard 950 on my car and its Driving me mad!

lately it has been going off for no reason, basically if this alam goes off you can silence it by pressing the arm/disarm button on the fob which just resets leaving it ative.

however my car will not shut up! whether i arm disarm or us my arm to slam the bloody doors i cannot get it to shut up!

it is doing it every night and only at night sometimes every ten minutes or every hour the hazards dont flash (i am not actually certain the alarn fitter has even made it do it though) and it mostly does a 3 second burst then a pause followed by another burst etc. sometimes only just one burst then silence for a while???

any ideas guys as its driving me MAD!

the alarm fitter said he would come down and is now ignoring me.

:Grrr :Grrr :2Mad :Grrr :Grrr

the actual sensors on cliffords can be subject to spikes and as such my ones tilt and motion sensor was going off sometimes hours after i had armed it and sometimes minutes...u can do a diagnostic check.after it goes off u can do a procedure and count the flashes on the interior flashing light and it will tell u which sensor is activatoing the alarm..if the fitter is vsib registered and a registered clifford fitter threaten u will involve both bodies ie the vsib and clifford..with mine they were reluctant to keep coming out and on 1st visit just turned the tilt and motion sensor off and it still sounded the alarm

Check you havent got any bottles of liquid in the car.  I had the same alarm on my old FTO and it kept going off.  Phoned Clifford and they asked me if I had any bottles of liquid or cans of deicer or anything in the car.  Removed them and it was fine afterwards.  The alarm sensors work off microwaves that work by detecting motion of mass so even though the liquid is in a container it still picks it up.

cheers for the advice i think i may have to threaten because clifford say thier fitters "will" come an diagnose repair or send off the unit for you.

problem with mine is i cant turn the siren off! the hazards dont flash as when it normally goes off and when i disarm it, it doesnt say it has gone off or give any flashes to indicate where the problem was...! alll leading me to believe it is indeed very broken. its only been in 4 months and not used constantly either as i dont use my car all the time. :(

cheers fella i remember hearing about this type of behavior also at some point. i have a 1 can of gas in the car carb cleaner wd40 and deicer in the boot! in this case it should still tell me what triggered it and let me silence it with the button like it says in the manual so i have a feeling it wont help but i will try.
