What size are the standard front door speakers in the FD? Also can you fit 6.5" components in them easily enough?

Yep, just watch the depth so they don\'t hit the windows.

I have Alpine SPS-171As fitted which are 16mm I believe. There\'s a guide somewhere around this forum, maybe in the ICE section about fitting them which is why I got the same model :)

anthony

also the kenwoods fit in with no problems

Note, the guide in this forum for the Alpines is for non-BOSE system. I had to modify the acoustic boxes on mine significantly to get them to fit.

Paul, if you don\'t mind me asking do the SPS171As speakers sound alright? (or should i say better than stock) I have a set downstairs and have been toying with the idea of fitting them.

Bugger, Scratch that mine are 176\'s the 6.5" Componants (guess they won\'t fit)

my alpines came with mounts to fit them to the std hole. I had to hacksaw the alpine moutns to get them to fit correctly tho.

these were the 17mm ones tho

i fitted 6.5" focal components in mine, theres plenty of depth there available :)

only downside is that bloody rattles, the door cards are aweful in these cars, oh well a bit of sound deadening later and mine is all good :D

Well just for info, they\'re ok but not very bassy with the default setup of my stereo. It has a 5 band EQ and really needs setting up tho. Crossover for the treble is adjustable and I think I really should lower mine.

i was most supprised to find a little speaker in the middle of my dash that the moth\'s had eaten and no rear speakers
