Need breakdown cover...

Hi,

My FD is in need of some garage loving.

Its due down at Re:Worx tomorrow, and yesterday it decided to breakdown, with smoke coming from the turbo areas...    :2Mad

Anyway, I can\'t drive it down there (Brighton to Protsmouth) so I need it recovered down there..

My insurance doesn\'t have breakdown cover (only just found out :2Mad :Grrr ) so can I just join RAC / AA and get them to recover it straight away?

I don\'t mind paying full yearly costs etc (and if I can get the 25% members discount for RAC, all the better )

no but green flag will.  was chatting to an aa driver once and asked him who he was covered with and he said green flag.  if you tell them it is broken they will just toe it, they dont send out a man to come and confirm then make you wait another hour for a toe truck like aa.
def the best, my mate uses them to pick up non running cars and just changes his car details on their system a few days before.

I know with the AA in the past that when you take out the membership, it didn\'t used to start until 24 hours after.  

Also you might want to ask them their policy on breakdowns.  I have a feeling that they wont collect your car and take it to a garage if its at your home address.

what a nightmare this is turning out to be...

I\'ve been waiting to have it booked into Re:worx for months... 2 days before its due, it breaks down, and I can\'t get it down there

I even started hiring a trailer, but then realised I didn\'t have a towbar on my Golf  :Hammer   And you can\'t just walk into a shop and buy a towbar... oh no, its gotta be ordered in... and its a bumper-off job to fit it!!

So... looks like its gonna be GreenFlag after all... I\'ll buy their European cover cos I might even be tempted by some Euro driving in future!

Re:Worx said I could take it down whenever and they\'d have a look at it in slow time - which is good of them, but still
