Carl did my rebuild about 1 and a half years ago now and he fitted ceramics, I have done about 10 track days on this engine and they have been given a pretty thrashing often running at high temps with the summer track days.

Well pleased with the rebuild and the ceramics.

Ceramics are the best you can buy.
If anyone wishes to know more then give me a call,I have built alot of engines with them, and have had very good results.
The problems that people have are caused by not building the engines the way that is recomended by the seal suplliers.

Had a good chat with Carl yesterday and he correctly pointed out that it was about 2 ½ years ago ........ phew, how time flies when you are enjoying the FD.

So, even more impressive :bandit

Just out of interest, how much do ceramics cost?

Cheers :D

Ianettis are around £1000 IIRC, I dont know the price difference for different variations but when I asked about a rebuild a while back Ianettis were about a £1000 option. NRS 1 piece can get for around $800-$1000, 2 piece are around $1700.

Hardened apex springs are also a good idea when running ceramics from what I hear.

Speak to Carl ............. 2 ½ years on and many many track days on I definitely feel that they were worth it, did make the whole rebuild kinda expensive though at the time.

If or should I say when the engine goes again, especially if it is the common fault of the side seals then as far as I know, the tips can be used again.
