Hi all, when i got my rx it came with a boost controller, see here for review=

http://www.clubrx.org/default.asp?id=5&ACT=5&content=17&mnu=5

advice from others told me that stock boost was 10-8-10 which is 0.70psi on my monitor for max boost.

i set it on 0.64 and it never exceeds 0.70.. its max of about 0.66 but when i put it on .66 on controller it went to 0.74 at one point, so i backed it off as i didnt want it to overboost ever..

my point of this thread is in running stock car with hks air filters, stock ecu etc.. running on 99octane shell vpower and octane boost.. i dont want to pay out £800+ for an apexi and map as i dont race the car and will not notice the extra power for that kind of money.

I dont want to have my car running too much boost i.e over stock but i would like to have the highest sensible value that wont cause any damage or problems.

Should i put this to .66 and that will be fine or different?

b= rip out this ebs3 controller and sell it? and try and pipe all the original pipes back (doesnt look too difficult)

or c leave it at .64 with ebs3 installed as its boosting nicely and im not getting any problems.
thanks all

get an Apexi for 450, and you WILL notice a difference

strangedays: that wasnt an option :) i already decided that £800 was too much for a better ecu when i wasnt going to mod it.
if it was £450 it wouldnt be so bad but thats just the price of the ecu and then you need to have a map and then get a commander as it will need to be fiddled with to pass mot etc..

i was just asking stock wise whats the best thing i should do?

If you\'re keeping it relatively stock you don\'t really need to get the Apexi mapped.

Its only when you start serious modding you need to get it re-mapped.

EXACTLY right, it is the best and SAFEST mod you could possibly make.  And as stated you don\'t have to get it mapped

I got mine here

They will mark the value down for you, but don\'t have to charges aren\'t all that much really....
