Just a quick question about oil presure.

My oil pressure sits at 0 kg at iddle and hops up to 4kg when the driving. Sometimes rises slightly higher than 4kg when I am blowing the cobwebs out.
I have been told that this isn\'t normal. Usually due to the sender.
The reading also seems quite notchy. It isn\'t like a steady up and down it sort of jumps. I check my oil level every day or two and it is always fine.

Daft question....! Does the signal come off of the Oil Switch or the OMP. I hit a bump the other day and it cured the problem for a while.
Mines Black and dirtier than Donatos. But hey, no-one asked for a good clean fight.

I have the same problem. I resolved the problem by fitting an after market temp/pressure gauge.

It is a common fault that the sender stops reading properly. You have to remove it and clean it out.

At idle I am seeing around 20-25 psi pressure, at cruise I see about 60-70 psi, and then at 10 psi I can see up to 110-120 psi.

So it is from the switch then?

Can it just be cleaned or do I need to hunt down a new 1.

Here\'s the best part.
I just get my oil done last week, at a small YankTank place around the corner from my work. They look after my bosses Corvette. When I was talking to the guy when I went to pick the car up, It turns out he used to rebuild rotory\'s for Mazda in scotland. He told me my oil pressure was low and that could acount for my boost problem \' if the oil pressure is low then the hydraulic lifters won\'t be running properly and blah blah blah cylinders blah missing blah\' After a bit of smiling I was able to convince him that the RX had a rotory engine.
