Does anyone know where i can buy the spring clips that attach to the brake pads?? (for the rear)

just noticed when i changed my pads that one of these springs is missing, it looks like the pads should have them attached top and bottom, i only have one spring

Fish

You get them with the Mazda pads. Dont know of any other sources.

Hmmmm, so are they supposed to be in the box when you buy the new set of pads???

Fish

Not just any old pads, they have to be the kind purchased at a Mazda stealer, sorry dealer.

The pins can be bought separately but not the anti squeel or clips Im afraid, only when buying complete mazda pads which we can get for you at £94.46 + vat, I\'ll add them to shop with diagram of what you get.

its the "W" or "M" shaped clip i need.

I don\'t think I have any as I think some people think they serve no purpose and I think they were removed some time ago ........... however I do find that when I move slowly in traffic with my foot off the brake that my brakes squeek which is very annoying.

Unfortunately they do serve a purpose even if its only to stop rattling. Your breaks probably squeek at slow speeds because of the type of pad, lots of performance pads squeal.

Thanks Gary,

But why are they touching the discs when I do not have my foot on the brake pedal.

Hi James

If they are making enough contact to squeak with your foot off the pedal this would indicate a seized caliper piston or the sliders on the back single piston caliper seized thus keeping pressure on the pads which will in-turn keep the pads pushed onto the Disc.

Its my experience that the only spring clips you really need are at the back to hold the lower parts of the pads apart, otherwise they do rattle ( these are the Y shaped springs).
All the best Clive
