Aircon conversion... help !

Hi folks,

Now I own Kermits old FD3 I thought I would ask my first piece of advice

I notice the aircon isnt working - its blowing but not cold. I figure it most likely needs a recharge but it is the old type gas and needs converting to the newer type.

I took it into a local aircon place and they quoted me £220 plus vat which I thought sounded very steep.

Anyway, to cut a long story short - does anyone know where to get the conversion kits so I can just take it to a local firm fitted already or just to save the mark up of them buying the kit in. alternativley are there any other suggestions?

Technically speaking you have to be licensed to drain an aircon system as it\'s full of nasts CFCs that give australian sunbathers cancer... Of course an accidental leak might solve the problem.  The conversion kit is hardly going to be tough to fit yourself and then it\'s a case of getting the thing re-gassed with the new bunny-friendly gas...
