It\'s a boost question

This has been a bit of an ongoing saga for me now. Long story short. Used to get no secondary. Now I have a nice strong secondary.
I have check as many of the hoses that I can get at. Found a few bad hoses and swapped them out. Just found a leak at the Vac Chamber and I boost more often than not now.
I ordered some parts from someone who went single and still have received them yet, but plodded on none the less.
So at the moment when I boost in 3rd I get 10-8-10 but the transition isn\'t the greatest. the boost flutters up and down till the transition is done and then we have a nice 10psi all the way to the line.
Could this fluttering be spike, and the wastegate dumping? It never goes over 10 on the gauge, just fluctuates between 8 and 10.
The car was decatted before I got it. which is why I was asking.

Also any guesses..... Looks like I am about to do or get the hose job done shortly...just wondering if it could be anything else.

Cheers
Bob

I had various guises of spike whilst running a full real high flow system, using various ecu\'s. One variety of spiking was similar to what you describe, boost would shoot up to 1 bar (target) and then flicker between roughly 0.9 and 1-1.15 before the transition and until the transition was complete...it would then stready itself to redline.

I presume this is the WG going mad trying to keep control, getting on top of things by opening too much and then having to close again straight away as boost drops below target, producing the yo-yo effect. I should add that my turbo control system was a bit flakey too. But it went away when I stuffed an HKS can on the car - no spiking and no creep, what P.O.S. exhausts they r :)

Trying sticking some \'more\' exhaust on it (borrow a super dragger for a day!) and see if it helps...

So this is probably spike then?
Because of the hose problems I have been having I was wondering if this could have been an actuator on the turbo pack not working properly because it wasn\'t getting vac/pressure to one of the chambers. I do get what sounds like a ratcheting sound when lift off the gas.

At the moment I have a custom FreeFlow system on it from the DP back. I bought a Racing Beat Dual tip cat back for it, but this won\'t mate up to the centre section so will have to get a centre section made up to fit.
When I found the car was decatted I thought I better get my PFC before I swapped the whole system....Now you have just given me an excuse to fit it anyway.:D

Yeah, it could be a control system problem still, as I said my control system I knew to be a bit flakey...

The main problem is that If I run it through 3rd...shift... I tend to get no boost. Lift off for a second or two then get back on the gas and sometimes it boosts sometimes it dont.
Do you think I am in the right place with regards to the ratcheting noise when the idling down and the manifold is in vacum? I think it could possibly be an actuator on the turbo pack.
