after getting the clutch sorted - the pedal has a tendancy to stick at the bottom :(

so i have bought a master cylinder rebuild kit ( thats whats been suggested by the peeps at RSIII i spoke to about it )

soooo when i get round to it ( need some nice weather first ) - should i bother investing in a braided clutch hose ??

i can get one delivered to my door for £15.71 - so is that a bargain or a waste of money ??

i asked brett and he doesnt have a clue - and i have texted Kev Yorks & Allan ( alban1973 ) but they havent got back to me

so i thought i would post on here  :WaveBye

if they are worth while then i will order one ( and is the £15 a good price or do you know of cheaper )

just to add - its an uprated clutch that grabs like a beast and had made the car sooo much more fun to drive !! :D

Sorry Stu i\'ve changed phone numbers i\'ll pm the new one. To be honest if the pedal felt OK then i cant really see the need for a braided clutch hose (now waiting to be flamed by the bling merchants)

the pedal is just very heavy now thats all

i know that braided brake hoses dont swell therefore better braking - didnt know if the clutch used the same principal ????

looks like its just for show then

£15 saved then :D

How are you doing for pedal travel Stu as a larger diameter slave cylinder would give you a longer pedal but softer. Time for a visit to the scrap yard maybe?

I fitted one,   mainly because the FD ones have a reputation to split when you put a firmer clutch in and the fact that the original is 15 years old.  For the price of bleeding the clutch i though it was worth doing rather than breaking down.

If you want to save yourself 15 quid,  find a rear FD braided brake line,  its the same........  just dont get caught taking it off!!!
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

You want to get down that gym !!!!  Cupple of weetabix and you won\'t notice..... :)

Welcome to the Uprated Presure plate.... I\'ve only come across four things where the clutch sticks down to the floor. 1. Clutch cable snapped (but your on Hydrolic so forget that) 2. Some one greased the Output shaft and the Dust stuck to it and jam\'d up the show (this can get worse over time but you have just had a clutch fitted so i would guess not) 3. Snaped Pedal (but it would stick all the time) or 4. you have forgot to let the peddle back up.

It could of course be something else but i personaly think 4 looks like the baby!!!! :)

On a serious Note for £15 get a braided Clutch hose!!! if the stocker goes on you you won\'t be best happy :Grrr i don\'t know why but the clutch Hose seems to be alot more prone to going, i\'ve had two go on diffrent cars and Jus has had one go on him too...

And you didn\'t ask me :p

Buy it, mine felt better for it plus if the peddle is heavier you will reduce the risk of the old pipe splitting, its getting on now !

thanks chaps :D

im just hoping the the cylinder is shot

a few people said that ..

1 - its a 16 yr old car
2 - you just put an uprated clutch in
3 - stop moaning and fix it ! LOL

for £15 its prob worth it - as griz said - i dont want to rebuild it all - then end up splitting the pipe ?

just need to order one now - i might give pip a ring and see how much he sells them for ??? - if its only a couple of quid more i will get one from him - failing that looks like USA is the best place for one

thanks chaps :D :D

just means a long wait to get the clutch sorted out
