my rx7 ticks over beautifully, that is until you pop the clutch in when at a stand still and select a gear with the clutch still in...then the tick over drops like be-atch, and will occasionally stall.  I have had umpteen number of MX5\'s in the past (shame), and this is a regular occurring problem with the throttle positioning sticking or becoming stiff.  A good coat of WD40 solves the problem on an MX5.......

My RX7 does not respond to the same treatment.  Why ? The throttle positiioning doofer (technical term there) looks mint and incredibly clean, so why is it playing up.  It operates properly when the A/C is turned on by raising the tick over, and also strangely enough when the fan is sped up.

Can anyone shed any light on this problem...as its getting embarassing !  I have to remember to knock it out of gear when I come to a halt....
