sorry to jump in on an old thread guys but i\'m just wondering what exactly are the symptoms of the engine throwing a tip or seals going??

I have heard difficult starting is one which i am kinda suffering in my car at the moment......if i leave her for a few days and go to start it, it churs for maybe 6-10 secs until i push the gas pedal a bit then fires up......when i\'ve driven a bit it seems to start first turn of the key thereafter???

Am i just being paranoid or is there an explaination? No signs of water loss or anything else evident either......also on different note when is best time/conditions to check the oil level?

Chris

nikp

Check oil often

...and water.

Doesn\'t sound liek either tips or coolant seals. Maybe plugs. when was the last time you checked your spark plugs?

Grizzly

Yeh, I\'d say get it serviced... maybe while its there get a Compression test done for peice of mind.

just thinking it may have been plugs, but not being to up 2 speed on rotaries i wasnt sure how often they need done. i service it every 2000 miles at max and regularly top up oil. coolant was flushed and refilled last month and hasnt moved a jiffy!!

What i meant by checking oil was do i run her for 5 mins then check the dipstick or test it from cold??

Anyone any idea on plug numbers/prices as a guestimate?

Grizzly

I usaly check it from cold but just so i know all the oil\'s drained back into the sump, But i guess if you leave it for 5-10 mins hot or cold don\'t realy matter.
