Trouble fitting C-West side skirts

Have finally got round to trying to fit the side skirts of my carbon creations kit.
Im not sure if its me but they seem too far out for the door to be able to close.

Anyone else fitted these skirts? (Cwest copy)

I dont want to start twisting them loads in case of cracking the laquer!! :Nono!
