Right, I\'m toying with the idea of fitting 18" rims to my FD.

At the moment i have a set of 17" rims but i have plans to use the car for a few track days this year, will fitting 18\'s screw up the handling?

I am thinking if i get some Te37 Volks (realy light) they should weigh about the same as an Avarage set of 17" and with the right tyres should have roughly the same overall diameter.

I just like the look of bigger rims on Fd\'s but at the same time i want it to handle as it should.

What do you think? Has any of you gone from std rims to 18"? what was your opinion? Did it feel less nimble?

I think if you fit quality rims like that, you\'ll see no real difference.
I too am thinking of doing the same, but with the CE28\'s.
So long as the weight of the wheel and tyre package doesn\'t alter too much, you wont see too much of a handling loss. I think there is some negative effect from the weight of the wheel being further from the centre of the hub but I\'d imagine it to be a small effect.

I\'m pretty sure you\'ll need/want to get your geomerty set up again.  I\'ve also heard a few people in the business suggest that you get a better response from 17" wheels.  I was just about to buy some yesterday until I phoned a few people and said I wanted to use the car for some serious track action and all of them said to go with 17".  Not as bling though.
