I\'m considering changing my existing RE-A Facer front bumper as I feel like a change and a different style. I want to buy the Vanquish front-I have found a primed one ready to go. I just need to work out a few things that I havn\'t been able to find using the magic search button.

As I understand it, I need the following to fit the Vanquish to my \'94 FD:
1. The bumper itself, colour coded and laquered. (anyone suggest a bodyshop in the south?)
2. 99 spec front sidelights/indicators (i want the black look ones-ebay?)
3. Cut/modify the bumper support bar to fit the 99 lights

I don\'t know if I need a wiring harness or any other supporting bits and pieces. I already have ducts for my twin oil coolers behind my existing bumper.  Is it relatively easy to remove the old one/fit the new one with a garage and some axle stands?

If anyone has fitted a similar bumper I would appreciate any advice.

Thanks :Thumbs-up

Freddy

Hi Rich,

The existing wiring harness should work with no real problems. Pretty much a bumper off, bumper on job dependant on fitment quality of Vanquish bumper.

You might just need to lose the slam panle however.

hth :)

the bulb holders for your current lights will be different that what is ideal for the 99 spec, but you can just file off some tabs from the ones you have and they will go in.  Thats what ive just done.  On my new bumper the 99 spec lights just fixed to that, so no need for modifying the support bar (well not on mine anyway).

The bumper was a relatively easy job, no need for axlelstand but I suppose it would make life a little easier them, but by no means needed.

BTW the pics in my sig are different to how the car is now

tbh i am hoping to sell the bumper with lights complete. do you not get bulb holders with the 99 lights? oh and where did you get yours from?

cheers

Freddy

Sorry for being confusing Rich, I had meant the metal support panel nestled behind the front bumper. Some aftermarket bumpers require the panel to be removed, otherwise adapt without removal.

IMO, your RE-A one looks cool. Just get some Canards for it. :)

The ones I bought didnt have them - and ive bought two sets now!!  Bought both times from someone on here.

what happened to the first set!? how much did you pay-they don\'t exactly seem cheap.  Freddy-interesting idea about the canards-any pics?  I like the front too, but id like something a bit more aggresive.  all depends how much it will all cost!

I bought a set that were a \'mercury\' type colour.  They look really good, classy looking.  But unfortunately I dont think they suit a white FD.  They would look really good on Black and Red.  So ive bought a silver set.

Freddy

There you go Rich,

(still annoyed on not taking the two tone last weekend ;) )

Hi RAW , sorry to hijack your tread…

Freddy…

That is a superb looking bonnet, what is it and where did you get it from?
How much?

Regards,
Michaelb

J.j.

That\'s a Nightsorpt bonnet, me think  ;)

Freddy

Yep, the bonnet is a Knightsports one. Works very well and fitment is A1.
