i read in a thread a couple of weeks ago that you could tell what model fd you had from some information in the drivers side door sill. so anyway out of curiosity i decided to have a look, but this sticker is all i found...

i realise the numbers are tyre sizes, but what do the 2.2\'s on the right refer to? and does anybody know whether the script at the top provides anything useful for determining the type of fd or is that just waffle relating to the tyres?

They are the tyre pressures for back+front...
Looks like you could do with giving your car a good clean.. :Laugh

Yeah, just over 31 psi in case your pressure gauge doesn\'t read those units :)

ahh i see :) thanks...

yeah the car does need a clean. i\'m on crutches at the minute though and unable to drive - had a skiiing accident 3 weeks ago and tore my anterior cruciate ligament and had op to shave rest of it off last week! so not really fit to get outside and clean it just yet, and while i\'m unfit i put my mum on the insurance to use it, so the car isn\'t at home during the day for me to clean it anyway :)

rest assured once i\'m back on my feet i will be giving her a good clean and polish (the car that is!).

any suggestions where else to look for this plate with info on about what model fd it is? (e.g. type r1 / r2 etc)

probedb

I\'ve got one of those but it also gives pressures for 17" tyres!

My plate that says it\'s an R2 is in the drivers door jam not far below the tyre pressure sticker.

There\'s the plate under the bonnet but I can\'t remember what info it provides apart from chassis number and paint code. Have you looked at this thread?
