is it possible to fit the early 4 pot calipers onto the late series1 gsl-se models with rear discs 4 x 114.3pcd\'s? without any problems?
thanks all

we\'ve just fitted them on the front of a morris marina :Giggle ... anything can be done, just depends on how much you are prepared to make yourself

that was quick!
just want to bolt them on really but ive been looking at the discs for mine (series 1 mk3 86) and i think the discs are the same size, looked at another website and they sell a kit i think just gives you the calipers and says you can bolt them straight on? just wanted to ask the question really if its that easy how come others haven\'t done it (probably because its not?)
just wanted to check the bolt holes on the calipers with mine i suppose if the discs are the same size

I don\'t think theres much chance of bolting them on, the calipers on the 1st gens are a totally different design to the later ones.  If you look for CP racing in canada they do a kit so it will give you an idea whats involved. At a minium I\'d be thinking about

1. New caliper brackets
2. Discs
3. Brake hoses ? ( might get away with standard)
4. Mods to discs and or hubs

then theres the question of new pads for the FC calipers and possibly a caliper rebuild (they like to stick, it took a while to sort ours out)

thanks, think i will stick with what i have, just about to order some drilled and grooved discs front and back so that should help i wouldn\'t of thought a first gen would weigh as much as a second gen so they should stop me ok!!

mine stopped really well as standard, far better than a lot of other cars I\'ve driven.
