Yesterday pulled up at the lights next to a hyundai coupe who decided to start revving his engine so thought i had betta kick his ass, when lights changed accelerated hard and pulled the clutch up but didnt quite pull it up quick enough and the car went but then there was a really bad strong smell and white smoke coming in through the centre from gearbox area, is it prob the clutch???

Doubt its a problem its just the clutch has slipped and burnt, mine would do it at Santa pod but was fine generally, you have just slipped it to much, held it off of top too long.

It will feel fine and as Gary (Hi) says you have burnt off a few miles, but unless doing it regularly or up the strip you could get thousands of miles out of your clutch, next time just remeber to not slip her so much and you will be fine. Only start to worry when it slips when not pulling away, ie you just put your foot down to acceerate and it starts to slip, then its time for a new one.

Do you still have the same free play at the top of the pedal as you did have.

If you have killed your clutch the first signs on a twin turbo car are that as the second turbo kicks in whilst driving the car the clutch slips, so if you have free play and if its O/K on hard acceleration you should be OK  :cool
