Ok, travelling down to my parents on friday night I get a problem with my ABS system that has been bugging me for a while now (ABS light flashes on a few times, then stays on resulting in no ABS, no wipers, no washer jets, no heater blower and no air con). This is easily solved by turning the ignition off, and bump starting it - which is what I did.

However, this time once the engine was started again and I applied the power, there was absolutely nothing there! The engine was definately going, but I had no acceleration at all. I changed to third to try and get her to accelerate, but all that happened was to continue slowing down. So I pulled over to the side of the road to figure out what to do. The engine was still running, so I revved it a bit in neutral, which it did quite happily. So I figured I\'d try and pull off again, which it did with no problems! Full power back. Wierd!

So does anyone know, or have any ideas, what might have happened? I\'m wondering whether it may have been a sticky solenoid or something? What do you guys think?

Could it have put the ecu into limp mode?

Doubt it: I didn\'t have to do anything to get it going again except to pull over and stop. Secondly, i have the apexi pfc and that did not flag up any errors. Also, I have had to do this before, and it\'s never done this in the past.

But keep the ideas coming! :)

:p It was actually in neutral?

i\'d probably start by pulling all the fuses to check they are ok and seating well, sounds like it could be electrical. also check your battery earth strap  eric e
