The next stage for my motor is going to be water injection I\'ve read a few posts that have stated the ignition side needs to be 100% to cope with this.
At the moment I\'m running a microtech LT12 with 6 separate Bosch coils that microtech recommend. Does anyone know just how good this set up is or will it need a additional ignition amplifier.

Simple answer is to try it and see :yes It\'s very noticeable if the ignition does break down due to the WI as the car will seriously bog down through most of the revs. If the size of the atomisation jet is too big or the pump and spray kicks in too soon then it will only tend to bog down the car in the lower rpms and clear up towards the top end.

Paul:)

P.S. Plug condition and type also play an important role in this also.

You have no need for ignition amp when running individaul coils. They are in themselves an ignition amp compared to the stock system. I have run 1.5bar and had no ignition problems. speak to the person who supplied the system and i expect they will say the same. This is why microturd recomend the individual coil optino
A small turbo

Depends how much water you plan on running really

I\'ll be using the system more for saftey than anything else, the boost will get turned up occasionally but there comes a point where you can\'t use any extra power on the road. I\'m already running iridium race plugs (10\'s) As regards jet sizes i\'m still looking at options but it will be a two stage system.

Kev, I have the L10s on my FD which has the same ignition setup as you. I\'m running an Aquamist setup with a 1mm jet, which is pulsed to match injector duty. 1 of microtechs aux outputs  is used to trigger at 2psi boost and after fuel injector staging point. I have had no problems with ignition to date.

If you invest in this sort of setup you can then adjust fuel mapping to let the water replace the excess fuel used to cool combustion temps.
