i bought some of these rx8 rims a couple weeks ago for £215 and the new tyres from my local tyre garage. I had the kumho ecsta 225 40 18 tyres fitted on. i got the 4 new tyres for £265 fitted & balanced which was a good price. You can get these on ebay, but your gonna end up spending £300.

£123 for 2 tyres with £12 delivery X2 = £270 and £ 15-£30 to get fitted & balanced by your local tyre garage =£300 tops. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/x2-Kumho-225-40-18-ZR-711-Tyres-2254018-225-40-18_W0QQitemZ8012788039QQcategoryZ9891QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

just do a search for 225 40 18 on ebay. the official size for the rx8 rim is 225 45 18 , only difference is  these have a slightly higher side wall than mine. oh and cost loads more for no good reason! :xconfused

ok. thanks very much for the info  :cheers

would you not recommend having wider tyres on the back or does this make no difference??

Mave

Lots of people have got wider on the rear than the front.... I\'ve got 8x17 and 9x17 with no problem. Take a look at the subforum stickie on wheel offsets and sizes for other examples. PS, don\'t forget to put up a picture when you\'ve got the wheels fitted; I\'d like to see what it looks like :)
