Hello

Im still trying to sort my turbo problem but now the exhust seems to be blowing aroung the turbos.   Do the manifolds normally crack on the fd\'s?

Cheers Jamie Madden

I don\'t think it\'s unheard of! I\'ve seen a few pics of badly cracked manifolds.
It might be an expensive job to replace gaskets too I\'m afraid - the turbos have to come off.
Just had mine done recently - 4hrs to remove 4 hrs to refit + cost of gaskets (50-60 notes each)
Fingers crossed for you mate.

Madden

Hello mate .   Were you turbos leaking aswell?  What proplems where you having?

Madden

I have now taken the turbos out and found that the second turbo to mainfold nuts have come loose and blowing out of that gasket.  Could that be the reason for my transision problem?  Where the second turbo comes in at 6000 rpm

BlitzBoy

yep it will cause all sorts of problems, it will also overspeed your turbos, lucky you have not blown them. Tighten the nuts you should be ok. hopefully you wont need to change the gaskets

If you have taken the turbo\'s off I would really recommend that you renew your gaskets.
Just think how you would feel if you put it all back together again and found you had a leaking gasket!!

Well done for doing the work yourself btw!!

Madden

It looks like the turbo housing has a crack in it .Its the second turbo where it meets up with the manifold. the crack actually goes all the way across where the gasket goes.   im putting them back in now with new gaskets ,studs and nuts.  Im praying that it works just had to pay £350 for 5 rear suspension bushes . What a bitch

Cheers  Jamie

agh new gaskets.
your better off getting hold of decent second hand metal ones.
reason is you can fit new ones but i\'d bet a weeks wage they will need tightening again after 500 miles.

Right have put it all back together now and is still blowing from around the turbos.   i had major probs with the manifold it became threaded so had to get that all taped but then the tap broke in side it major probs.   So that means i have to do it all again going to get an new exhust manifold, gaskets, new bolts studs and locking nuts.  So hopefully wont have to do it again.

Question for you guys would the exhust blow be giving me my transisition props?
