Well, I am currently replacing my plastic Y-pipe and rubber coupler with the all metal efini Y-pipe as found on 99 spec FDs and later.

And, i feel i must say: What a bl**dy pain in the butt it is!! After getting all the induction pipes off, i have to undo the bolts to the base of the metal pipe. I can\'t get the bolt at the back undone, so i have to undo the air feed pipe to the second turbo. To do that, i need to get to the bolts at the base, therefore i need to jack the car up. Then i find out that the air feed pipe won\'t come out without taking the clutch master cylinder off - bugger that for a game of tennis. Can i undo the bolt just by wiggling the loose pipe - answer: yes, with the help of a girl with small hands!!  :p Then the other bolt at the back is below the old y-pipe, so i need to undo that from below - not so hard after all.

Then the bolts at the front - not too difficult. Great! Now it can come free! No it can\'t: the air pump is stopping me from releasing it. Ok, need to move that - only way to give complete room is to move it up, which means removing the belt from it. So i move the air pump down, and find there\'s not enough slack - so i need to slacken the alternator too! Excellent, i can move the alternator now, to slacken off the belt, to remove that, so i can move the air pump up to remove the old y-pipe! Phew! Done that! Now all i have left to do is to remove the pain in the butt rubber hoses from that, and it\'s free!

Then all i need to do is reverse the process with the new efini y-pipe!

What a pain in the butt!

And what a long post! Sorry!
