How does the RX compare?

Hello:wave - just joined the forum. Can I pick your brains?. I currently drive a Honda Prelude Vtec but am looking to defect to turbo power!. I have a sort of shortlist of cars in mind:
Gen 3 RX7, Scooby STi or Skyline R33 GTS T. Of course you guys will say that I should go for an RX but could you give me your opinions of how the RX compares to the other cars in terms of performance, tuning potential etc. Thanks for any advice guys. Cheers;)

i shouldnt say this but i like the skylines. your choice of the lame one isnt worth a look.

when they go bang you have to be on first name terms with your bank manager.

gen 3 rx... the most fun you can have with your cloths on. lighter than the skyline so you dont need the big power engine that that does to drag its sorry fat butt around,  this also means it handles and stops better.

if you read all the posts on here youll notice that most people change from sti\'s and skylines to a rx. must be a reason.......:wave

From what I\'ve seen on the tuning front the rex must be one of the cheapest - you see these skybuses and scoobs with 450 -500 bhp but at what cost 25-30k? to get the same sort of performance from the rex- 350 -450bhp is going to cost 15k depending what you do:D

I know from experience that if you dont get a good skyline it can cost big bucks, but then again its the same with an rx.  From what I have read (still awaiting rx to arrive) they are easy to tune and more expensive than nissans 200sx/300zx (nissans can utilise used skyline parts).  

Toyotas supras have excellent engines, best to go to the supra forum for more info, but the rx looks sexy, light, uncommon and fast.  Dont know if that helps:confused:

purely on head turning ability, Rex wins hands down.  I have followed a ferrari modena, and got more looks...  It takes something like the lambo mucky-largo to get more attention

horses for courses really as mentioned above the skybus is proper bo in GTR form & is a happy combo of the all wheel drive & traction you get with a scoob with the rear wheel drive frantic action in the RX7. I cant fit a liner in me gaarge & they still cost a lot for a non ugly un. & while i may have probs getting my lanky legs in probably the best looking of the 3 namely the RX7 it will be mine..........oh yes
