Hi All~

I\'d just like to ask if anyone knows what, aside from age and wear,  the usual cause of pilot bearing failure is. I changed mine about 4 months ago when I put in the ACT and I think it shat itself this weekend. However, I\'m about 60% sure that it\'s the pilot bearing and I\'m curious if there\'s something about the tranny that could cause such quick and sudden failure.

Thanks

well, for those interested, my search has found the following:

The Obvious Causes of Pilot Bearing Failure:[/b]
bad installation
poor lubrication
the bearing was faulty

The Not-So-Obvious Causes:[/b]
bad front bearing on the tranny
bad input shaft
prolonged driveline misalignment

hope this helps someone down the road ...
