Nifty PFC Commander mod

Never liked the idea of the PFC commander just sat about, or hooked up in a cradle on the dash.

Saw this thing on EBAY, thought it was quite a good idea, bit pricey tho

wow I like that, but i dont want to get rid of my double din stereo....desicions desicions!

Not too bad price when you consider a R-Magic holder is 60-80 quid

I have a single din radio, and then 3 gauges, so the stereo would have to go i think.
Which would mean stealth fitting it somewhere else, like in the glove box, one of the rear bins, like you said decisions decisions

Looks smart, dont like how my commander is held to the dash with what looks like a cheap phone holder, although Im skint atm so its a no no for me

Yep its orange, but if your prepaired to solder 32 wires, then doing a few more to change the LCD would not be a problem.
Not looked inside my commander yet, but from previous experience with LCD screens inside PLC control units there not hard to change.

if your handy with a dremmel it would not be to hard to make one of these from a single din blanking plate, as long as you where good with a soldering iron.

I really like that mod and I agree with NIX a little effort and a dremmel you could knock one of these up.
I was going to move my commander, the ash tray holder is almost the right size a little modding  and some bog and it would have fitted and looked discret, I dont smoke so I dont need a ashtray.

But after seeing that I may be tempted to go for it, my only worry would be taking the commander apart. bugger it once I\'ve finished what seems to be a never ending list of mods I am going to do it.

I will defo be making one of these, I iwll take some pics on how I do when I get round to it, but if someone else does it first then please lets see your work in progress.

I had an idea a while back for holding the commander , I was going to remove the center dash speaker and make a holder for it instead , would have to pull the commander out to adjust anything but the display would be visible
