I spent an interesting day out last week having my car filmed for a new classic car TV show.  I am not sure when it will be shown, but will post details as soon as it is announced.

I was interested to learn that it is usual for approx 4 hours of material to be shot which is then edited down to give a 5 minute completed piece, and it was interesting to see how they go about getting all the shots which then get edited together.  What I can say it is not possible to get a presentor, a camerman and a sound engineer into a Gen 1 for moving shots!

The car was presented as an "affordable classic" and I hope this will encourage more people to find out about the rotary cars we all enjoy.

Judging by some of the other items the crew said they have been involved in shooting I think this series will be good when it airs.

excellent ... what TV channel is it for ? or is that classified info :)

Gary - as for exotic locations, I had to put up with a business park in Swindon.  Apparently they wanted somewhere with more modern buildings to complement the more scenic mansions etc. they had used when shooting all the really old classic stuff.

What you don\'t get from these stills is the more scenic nature of some of the driving shots.  I am not sure where these where all taken as I had to stay back in the car park whilst the crew took the car out on the open road.

They did comment that they could not get the warning buzzer to come on at max revs which they wanted to film, I have subsequently tried it myself and have concluded it is broken.  Normally I don\'t rev it beyond 6K!

My understanding is that it should be transmitted before the end of the year but I have left out other details as I am not sure on sensitivity of the information.

As soon as I get advised when it will be on I will add to the post.

I have now received transmission details of the show which starts tonight 1/11/05 on Discovery\'s Real Time Channel.  It is called "Classic Car Club" and is to be shown at 20:30 with a repeat at 1am on Tuesdays with further repeats at 20:30 on the following Saturday and 03:30 on Sunday.

My car should be included in Episode 4 which is scheduled for Tuesday 22/11 at 20:30 and 01:00 and Saturday 26/11 at 20:30 and 03:30.

Obviously these times may change without notice.

If anyone sees tonights first show let me know what it is like as I can not get Discovery.
