Removing footwell heatshield

Hi
Any of you removed this, as despite an engine torque brace, which HAS helped a bit, i\'m still getting pipe vibration transmitting thru to me pedals-Removing the heatshield may remove the contact area
Obv i\'m gonna get Summer cheesy feet, but any other drawbacks?
