the usual culprits are the ball joints. Jack the car up and when it is securely sat on axle stands grab hold of each front wheel and try and move it around, any play should be pretty obvious, be it wheel bearings or ball joints.

Has it been lowered ?

i have not lowered it but it has been lowered with adjustable shocks as well.came like that from japan an in the last 3months it has got bad.car sounds like a pocket full of change wen u hit a bump or drain in the rd.

could be all sorts, from your description of the noise it sounds more like somthing loose, like the nut on the strut tops or the springs rattling around ? really worn ball joints will thud or knock.

it\'s like everytime the suspension travels up or down you get a metal to metal sound.it\'s gotta go in to have the enginechecked out before i start thinkin about bhp so i\'ll get them to have a look at it then.
cheers for your help tho mate i gonna take the front wheels off in mornin an check bolts etc.
